Cherokee Village is comprised of 13,000+ acres located in the foothills of the Ozarks of Northeast Arkansas. The community was first developed in 1954 by Cooper Properties, which is a premier developer of recreational communities. Two of Coopers' well know projects are Hot Springs Village and Bella Vista Village. Property owners at Cherokee Village have access to 2 championship 18-hole golf courses, 7 gorgeous lakes for boating and fishing, 2 large community centers with multiple pools, over 30 parks, 2 miniature golf courses, tennis courts, a crystal clear river running through the city, and much, much more. There are also two Marinas and a new medical facility. Golf Digest listed Cherokee Village golf courses among its "Best places to play Golf in Arkansas". Nearby are free flowing rivers, which offer some of the best canoeing, floating, and fishing to be found anywhere. The Spring River, which begins 14 miles away at Mammoth Spring State Park, is formed by one of the largest springs in the world. It flows adjacent to Cherokee Village and is considered by many to be one of the best canoeing rivers in the state. Since Cherokee village is a municipality, there are 4 fire stations, schools, full-time police force, emergency medical service, airport, post office, shopping, restaurants, civic organizations, several churches (many denominations) and all the normal things you find in any city. Cherokee Village is located approx. 2 hours Northwest of Memphis, Tennessee, 2 hours Northeast of Little Rock, Arkansas and about 2 hours Southwest of Branson, Missouri, the Las Vegas of the Midwest! Cherokee Village has been a local treasure, largely overlooked by outsiders up until now. It is an area which is starting out like every large city starts out A few people know about it and try to keep it a secret, then more and more people find out, and all of a sudden everyone is buying there. As the population increases, more businesses come in, and the place takes off? The climate for Cherokee Village is mild, year –round. There is occasional snow in the winter which melts off quickly. The average winter temperature is 51 degrees F ( +10 C ) and the average summer temperature is 80 degrees F ( + 26 C ). There is a million dollar renovation to Sharp County regional Airport (CVK) underway. There is a Home Depot and Lowe's within reach and a Wal-Mart Super center store only 4.6 miles away. |
